For a first time waxer I was a bundle of emotions…nervous, embarrassed, a little shame for how out of control I had let my business get since being pregnant (my daughter is now 16 months old!), and excited! The girls at Wax It in GJ (who all get waxed themselves), assured me that these were all NORMAL feelings and that they had seen it all. Their jobs are to provide a service and all they are looking at is the hair.
At this time all of the waxers at Wax It are licensed Cosmetologists. The minimum requirement for waxers is to be an Estitician, so rest assured, these girls have been trained and schooled in waxing. They are Pros!
After chatting for a while they took me back to a private room for a Full Leg, Brazilian, Tummy Trail and Eyebrow waxing. Beginning at the shins, working her way up the front of the leg, doing the Brazilian, then finishing up with the back of the leg. First strip on the shins….OUCH!!! I began to get a little worried, could I last, is it going to get worse? As she worked up my shin to my thighs the pain all but subsided. They consider it like a Band-Aid…albeit a giant Band-Aid being ripped off about 100 times! However, the pain does not last, it hurts in the moment then it’s gone.
The Brazilian was definitely the worst part. I wasn’t uncomfortable anymore, just ready for it all to be over…and I didn’t want to walk out half done…so I powered through it! The backside, back of the legs, tummy and eyebrows were hardly noticeable. All together it took about an hour so make sure you have enough time allotted to get everything done. I’d say an hour and a half if you get a full leg and Brazilian.
More to come on what to expect afterwards and some tips from the Pros!
Day 4, loving it!
Day 7!!! Still smooth!
