☐ Buy your Dress (Remember you will probably have 2-3 fittings.)
☐ Purchase undergarments and Shoes (Bring them to your fittings.)
☐ Order your Veil.
☐ Order your Save the Dates (Should be sent out 6 months before wedding.)
☐ Purchase Bridesmaids Dresses (They will likely have fittings as well.)
☐ Book your Officiant.
☐ Book your Entertainment.
4-6 months before
☐ Send out Save The Dates.
☐ Order your Invitations (Should be sent 2 months before the wedding.)
☐ Order your Wedding Cake, Yum!
☐ Read our informational page on obtaining a Marriage License.
☐ Meet with a Florist and order your flowers (Find out which flowers are in season during your wedding date, they will be the most affordable.)
☐ Contact Rental Companies to reserve tables, tents, outdoor toilets, lighting, and dance floor. (Find out if your Venue offers this.)
☐ Order Tuxedos for the groom and his groomsmen.
☐ Purchase Wedding Bands.
☐ Meet with a Caterer to select the food and bar menu. (Find out if your Venue offers this.)
☐ Register for gifts.
☐ Start planning your Honeymoon.
☐ Order or renew your Passports (If you plan on travelling out of the country for your Honeymoon.)
1-3 months before
☐ Print out directions to ceremony site, reception and hotel. (Send with your invitations.)
☐ Send out Invitations.
☐ Meet with your DJ and bring a list of songs you want played the day of your wedding.
☐ Find a gift for your groom.
☐ Go to our Beauty Checklist to start a bridal beauty regimen.
☐ Book Transportation (To and from Ceremony Site, Reception, Hotel Room, etc.)
☐ Plan a Bridal Shower or let someone throw you one (Typically the Bridesmaids job.)
☐ Find the perfect gifts for attendants.
☐ Buy Guest Book, Toasting Glasses, Cake Knife, Flower Girl Basket, Garter, and Ring Bearer Pillow.
☐ Book your final appointment for Hair and Makeup (As well as an appointment for a run through on your make-up the week prior to the wedding.)
☐ Book a Room for your wedding night .
☐ Book the venue for the Rehearsal Dinner (This might be something the parents would like to host.)
☐ Meet with the Officiant to discuss the ceremony. (This way you have an idea ahead of time what the wording will be and have a chance to write your own vows if you choose.)
☐ Make a list of all the vendors complete with contact information so that you can easily reach them if there is a problem.
☐ Order Wedding Favors and Wedding Programs (To save a little cash try creating the programs on your computer and hand make the wedding favors.)
The week before
☐ Pick up your Wedding Dress (don’t let the groom see it!)
☐ Write your Vows if you have chosen to do so.
☐ Meet with your Makeup Artist to do a trial run before the big day.
☐ Compile a list of people who would like to give Speeches or Toasts and give them to the DJ.
☐ Delegate wedding day tasks to trusted family members and friends.
☐ Finalize the seating arrangement.
☐ Review the RSVP list and send a final guest list to vendors .
☐ Make final payments to your vendors.
☐ Talk with vendors one last time to confirm arrival and set up times.
☐ Give a schedule of the day’s events to vendors.
☐ Put checks and tips in envelopes to be handed out to vendors. (Let the wedding planner or a family member hand them out for you.)
☐ Pack for the honeymoon!
☐ Have a spa day!
☐ Have your bachelorette party ATLEAST two days before the wedding. (None of that night before the wedding nonsense!)
The day before
☐ Rehearsal with Officiant and Attendants .
☐ Attend Rehearsal Dinner.
☐ Try to remain calm and get some sleep. Tomorrow is the BIG Day!
The Wedding day
☐ Make sure you eat! It may feel like the last thing you want to do but you will need all the energy you can get. (And you don’t want to pass out at the altar.)
☐ Congratulations, the most romantic and wonderful day of your life is today! You have planned and worked hard for months. Now is the time to enjoy the fruits of your labor!
