Making Macarons with Simply Cakes by Camberly

Last week we got to learn all about making macarons! Which is no easy feat!

It begins with aging the eggs for at least 24 hours. Then you whip the egg whites into a meringue, add some almond flour until you have the perfect consistency and then pipe out perfect little circles that have to set up for an hour! Then they bake for 10-12 minutes. Once they’re done baking they have to completely cool before adding your frosting to the middle and making a little cookie sandwich!

Why are they so special? The specialness comes from the time involved waiting for everything to age and set up. If you make it too thin or thick you’ve got some more work to do! You can add dry flavoring to the cookies themselves and food coloring. You can add any kind of liquid flavoring to your frosting. Camberly did a pastel pink cookie with a mint buttercream filling! The cookie is light and flaky. They taste divine!

If you haven’t had a chance to try one contact Simply Cakes by Camberly to place an order. They are the perfect treat for baby showers, bridal showers and weddings! Or just treat yourself, you won’t be disappointed!
